Dr. Lima is licensed in both the State of Washington (PY60969939) and the State of California (PSY31455).
Dr. Lima has over 15-years of experience providing individual, family, and group therapy in a variety of settings including the court system, community mental health, healthcare centers, and private practice. He has a master’s degree in counseling psychology from Saint Martin’s University in Lacey, WA, and a PhD in clinical psychology with a double emphasis in (1) clinical neuropsychology, and (2) child psychology from Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, CA. Dr. Lima has received substantial training, both in his master’s and doctoral programs, as well as on the job trainings and multiple certifications in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Family Systems Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Cognitive Rehabilitation. He has experience with children, adolescents, families, and adults.
Dr. Lima also has extensive training and over 10-years of experience in psychological, neuropsychological, and neurodevelopmental testing. He is board-eligible in clinical neuropsychology (ABPP-CN) and trained at several world-class hospitals such as Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital (LLUCH), and Atascadero State Hospital (ASH) under board-certified neuropsychologists where he also worked with world-renown neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons, neurologists and epileptologists, and sports medicine physicians. Dr. Lima has assisted in Wada assessments and brain mapping for individuals who were being worked-up for neurosurgery. Further, he worked as part of a transdisciplinary team assessing children, adolescents, and young adults for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at the Inland Empire Autism Assessment Center for Excellence (IEAACE) in San Bernardino and Riverside, CA.
Dr. Lima believes that we are all unique, and, as such, utilizes an individualized approach when working with clients. He works closely with clients to create a treatment plan and continuously works with his clients to adjusts treatment plans and goals as needed.
In his free time Dr. Lima enjoys cycling, reading, and playing, recording, and performing music.
